TMJ Disorders
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders are a broad category of muscle and joint problems, that can cause pain in the head and neck, not just the jaw. Injury, disease, clenching of the teeth, tightening jaw muscles, and stress can result in painful "TMJ" symptoms.
Treatment must be directed towards specifically diagnosed causes of the pain. A general diagnosis of "TMJ" is not specific enough.
Symptoms May Include:
- Jaw pain
- Ear pain/ Fullness
- Ringing or buzzing in the ear
- Facial pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches
- Pain behind the eyes
- Dizziness
- Grinding and/or clenching of teeth
- Clicking or popping of jaw
- Teeth that won’t fit together when you bite
- Tooth sensitivity
